Fregate Island

Fregate Island, Seychelles

The thickly forested island is among the most amazing places to visit in Seychelles for watersports, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, and yachting. One of the unique traits about this place is that the beach on this island, also known as Anse Victorin has been voted by the Times as the World’s best beach. So, why not give this island a visit too on your next vacation to Seychelles? This island got its name from the abundance of certain birds on this site. These birds are known as frigate birds.

Fregate Island Private, located 4° south of the equator in Seychelles, set on a 2.19 square kilometer is a private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Transfer from Mahé International Airport by helicopter (15min) or from Mahé Eden Island per boat (1h30).

This island is situated inside the tropical vegetation and is a private one in Seychelles. On this island, you will get all the privacy and even WiFi! Thus, you can have a pleasant time in the jacuzzi and spend some cozy time with your partner.

A splinter of the former supercontinent Gondwana, Fregate Island is home to many rare and exotic species from the critically endangered Wrights Gardenia to the indigenous giant tenebrionid beetle. Guests are always invited to participate in the conservation projects; observing free-roaming giant tortoises and exotic birds, assisting turtle hatchlings, and cultivating sea coral.

Beaches on the north coast include from west to east the award-winning Anse Victorin beach, Anse Maquereau, and then Anse Bambous on the northeast corner of the island. On the western point of the island there is La Cour and then on the southwest coast the Grand Anse, Petit Grande Anse, and the small beach Anse Felix. On the southeastern coast, there are the small beaches of Anse Coup de Poing and Anse Parc.

Activities
